A premiere date for the TV version of Elmore Leonard’s 1990 novel Get Shorty has been set by Stateside network Epix. It will air on August 13th, a prime Sunday night slot.
Chris O’Dowd, Ray Romano, Megan Stevenson, Sean Bridgers, Lidia Porto, Carolyn Dodd, Goya Robles and Lucy Walters lead the cast of the series which is based on the classic Leonard work. The series will follow a hitman who tries to become a movie producer to leave his past and win back his recently-estranged family.
The book was previously made into a 1995 movie with John Travolta as lead Chili Palmer. It was followed up with a sequel Be Cool ten years later.
