New Dunkirk trailer. Christopher Nolan’s new film arrives in July.
Warner Bros. have just dropped the new trailer for British director Christopher Nolan’s upcoming World War II film Dunkirk. The highly anticipated film will debut in cinemas this summer and is Nolan’s first work since the superb Interstellar back in 2014. You can watch the new Dunkirk trailer.
Dunkirk revolves around the infamous battle of Dunkirk during World War II where allied soldiers from Belgium, the British Empire, Canada, and France were surrounded by the German army. 330,000 men were trapped and they were a sitting target for the Germans.
Here’a a more detailed plot synopsis for the film.
In May 1940, Germany advanced into France, trapping Allied troops on the beaches of Dunkirk. Under air and ground cover from British and French forces, troops were slowly and methodically evacuated from the beach using every serviceable naval and civilian vessel that could be found. At the end of this heroic mission, 330,000 French, British, Belgian and Dutch soldiers were safely evacuated.

Nolan is directing the film from his own original screenplay, utilizing a mixture of IMAX® and 65mm film to bring the story to the screen. The production shot France, Holland, the UK and Los Angeles and will debut in cinemas on July 21st, 2017. Hans Zimmer, who is currently on a massive global tour performing some of his legendary musical back catalogue is returning to score the film for Nolan. The two have worked together extensively over the last number of years.
Dunkirk stars Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance, Kenneth Branagh, Cillian Murphy, Fionn Whitehead, Aneurin Barnard, Harry Styles, James D’Arcy, Jack Lowden, Barry Keoghan and Tom Glynn-Carney.
