Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen will voice the roles of Timon and Pumbaa in Jon Favreau’s live-action remake of The Lion King for Walt Disney Pictures. Billy on the Street star Eichner and actor/ comedian Rogen have signed on the dotted line to take the high-profile roles for the studio, so reports The Wrap.
They join the already cast James Earl Jones, Donald Glover and possibly Beyonce in the film, which will roll out in cinemas in 2019. Jones will reprise the role of Mufasa, while Glover will voice the role of Simba with Beyonce looking to play the role of Nala.
Disney have set a release date of July 19th 2019 for The Lion King remake.
Eichner and Rogen have worked together before, on last year’s comedy sequel Bad Neighbours 2.
