The old saying ‘be careful what you wish for’ takes centre stage in the latest upcoming teen-horror, Wish Upon. Joey King leads the film, playing a bullied teenager who finds a way to get back at her peers with the aid of a box that grants wishes, but using her wishes for personal gain causes very bad things to happen. It soon becomes apparent that there is an evil entity living in the box and it has a thirst for murder.
Ahead of it’s July U.S release, a new trailer has landed online. The new clip shows the aftereffect of one of those wishes and it’s pretty gruesome:
Wish Upon also stars Twin Peaks’ Sherilyn Fenn and Ryan Phillippe; it is directed by John R. Lenetti, director of The Conjuring spin-off, Annabelle.
Wish Upon releases in the U.S in July; a UK date has still to be set.
