With he first film out in cinemas around the world on Friday March 24th, Saban have revealed that they have another five Power Rangers movies waiting in the wings should this one prove to be a success.
Speaking with Variety, Haim Saban of Saban Entertainment said: “We already have a six-movie story arc…. if this film is as successful as I hope on March 24, on March 25 we’ll have the first story meeting for Movie No. 2.”
Wow. While some of the early reviews for the first film have been less that favourable, there is a massive global fan base for the Power Rangers, and indeed a lot of spin-offs, including merchandise and licensing deals which could make things hugely profitable for Lionsgate, who are releasing. We’ll know if the sequels will happen come the weekend as the film-going public do the talking but getting down to their local multiplexes.
