The first ‘epic’ trailer for Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie has landed online courtesy of Dreamworks. The animated movie from the studio behind Shrek features the vocal talents of comedians Kevin Hart, Ed Helms and Thomas Middleditch and is based on the book series by Dan Pilkey.
Our story follows two elementary school friends who accidentally hypnotise their mean teacher into believing that he is ‘Captain Underpants’, the hero of their self-penned comic book. The trailer points to some very Despicable Me like enjoyment, check it out now:
Dreamworks are clearly confident that Captain Underpants will be a success; why else would you refer to it being ‘the first movie’ in the title? Is this the start of a brand new animation franchise, we’ll find out upon it’s July release.
Captain Underpants: The Epic First Movie arrives in UK cinemas on 28th July 2017.
