James Wan‘s upcoming Aquaman stand-alone movie has been pushed back two months from October 2018 to December 21st 2018. The news comes from Warner Bros. Pictures themselves and follows the news that Avatar 2 has vacated the very attractive release weekend before Christmas where the studio already have an untitled WB event movie due – that will now move supposedly.
Aquaman will now open just four days before Mary Poppins Returns and directly against Sony’s animated Spider-man movie. Slipping into Aquaman’s previous October 6th 2018 release spot is Sony’s just-announced Venom film which Alex Kurtzman is rumoured to be directing.
Jason Momoa leads the cast in the title role as Aquaman in the DC spin-off movie, which is now in pre-production. Nicole Kidman and Temuera Morrison have been cast as his parents, while Patrick Wilson will play his brother Orm, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will star Black Manta, and Willem Dafore as Vulko.
More as we get it.
