Hot on the heels of news that Eva Green was considering joining the cast of Tim Burton‘s live-action version of Dumbo, word reaches us today that none other than Danny DeVito is also in talks to join the forthcoming Disney feature.
The news comes via trade blog Deadline, who say that DeVito is up for the role of Medici, the man who runs a smaller circus that gets acquired by the evil big top circus villain Vandemere. They say that all that is stopping him is his commitments on Broadway with the Arthur Miller drama ‘The Price’.
Green will be playing a French trapeze artist who works for Vandemere and is a key role in the film, according to the trade blog.
Burton will helm the Dumbo movie for the studio, the latest in a long line of liv-action adaptations of their animated movies following the likes of The Jungle Book and next week’s Beauty and the Beast.
More as we get it.
