Nicholas Hoult has joined Rachel Weisz and Oscar-winner Emma Stone in The Lobster director Yorgos Lanthimos’ next film The Favourite. According to Deadline, the film is described as a period drama where Hoult will play “Harley,” the Tory party leader during the reign of Queen Anne at the end of the 17th and beginning of the 18th century. No further information is currently available plot-wise at the moment.
We do know that Stone plays Abigail Masham, Weisz, an alumni of Lanthimos’ The Lobster is Sarah the Duchess of Marlborough, while star Olivia Colman is Queen Anne.
Deborah Davis and Tony McNamara wrote the script for the film, which will start shooting later in the year.
