We were all treated to a five-minute Alien: Covenant short just last week, which followed the first proper trailer which was festively delivered on Christmas Day. Well, it looks like we may be getting a new Alien: Covenant trailer very soon indeed.
According to Trailer Track, the new promo for the film is going to be attached to prints of Logan Stateside when it starts to roll out this coming Thursday (2nd March), so expect an online debut either just before or afterwards. The word is that there will be a green-band version, and indeed a harder R-rated red-band version.
Here’s the synopsis for the film:
Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created in ALIEN with ALIEN: COVENANT, the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with PROMETHEUS — and connects directly to Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
Ridley Scott is directing the film for the studio, while Michael Fassbender stars alongside Katherine Waterston, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Jussie Smolett, Amy Seimetz, Carmen Ejogo, Callie Hernandez, and Billy Crudup. We’re also expecting to see Noomi Rapace back as Dr. Elizabeth Shaw, and James Franco as the Captain of the Covenant ship.
Alien: Covenant arrives in cinemas on May 19th, 2017, which is a full three months before it was due to land. We’ll bring you more on the new Alien Covenant trailer as we get it.
