Sir Patrick Stewart says Logan is definitely his last X-Men movie

Sir Patrick Stewart has seemingly confirmed that the upcoming Logan will be his very last X-Men movie. The British screen and stage legend is appearing on this week’s Graham Norton Show on the BBC, alongside Hugh Jackman and fellow X-Men star Ian McKellen, who spoke about watching the film at last week’s glittering Berlin Film Festival world premiere.

“Last week we were at a screening in Berlin sitting next to each other and when it got to the very emotional ending and I noticed Hugh wipe away a tear, then I did the same and during the credits he held my hand and I was done, I was weeping and sobbing.”

“While the credits were rolling I realised that if it was the end, there was no more perfect and beautiful way to say, ‘au revoir, goodbye, adios.'” Sir Patrick added.

He said: “So I think it is the end for me, too.

“Why would I want to have another go of it after what we have done in this movie?”

Logan isn’t released until next Wednesday (1st March) in the UK, but it is already getting rave reviews from critics who were at last week’s Berlin screening (where we reviewed the film), and from other parts of the film world too – it’s quite remarkable.

It really is a fitting send-off for both Jackman as Wolverine, and Stewart as Charles Xavier, but don’t worry, we won’t reveal any spoilers here, but it is truly something and all fans should feel the same.

The Graham Norton Show screens on BBC One in the UK this Friday evening at 10.35pm.
