According to sources, both Nicole Kidman and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II are in talks to join the about-to-start-shooting Aquaman stand-alone movie.
Jason Momoa is headlining the DC/ Warner Bros. film which is being directed by James Wan (The Conjuring), and The Hollywood Reporter are reporting that Kidman is being eyed to play the mother of the title character, who in the comics is Atlanna, who hails from royalty in the underwater kingdom of Atlantis. In the comics, the character escapes her kingdom and falls in love with a lighthouse keeper, giving birth to the boy who will one day grow up to be a bridge between two worlds.
Abdul-Mateen II, who was last seen in Netflix’s The Get Down, would play the villain Black Manta.
It’s too early to say whether they will sign, but we’ll keep you posted.
