Interstellar co-stars Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway are set to re-team for Steven Knight-directed Serenity. The film will mark Knight’s second film as director, following the superb one-man effort Locke with Tom Hardy.
The film will be sold at the European Film Market in Berlin next month, and is described by Deadline as a film that follows a fishing boat captain whose past catches up with him on a small island in the Caribbean, ensnaring him in a new reality that might not be all it seems.
Knight is responsible for some of the biggest and best screenplays of the last few years, including last year’s Brad Pitt and Marion Cottilard team-up Allied, as well as The Hundred Foot Journey, Burnt and Eastern Promises. He is also the writer of TV shows Peaky Blinders and the now-showing Taboo, also with Hardy.
Shooting on the film is expected to begin this summer with Knight directing from his own screenplay.
