One of the best things (of many) from the Guardians Of The Galaxy films is the character of Groot, and with the second film in the series due in cinemas in a matter of months with Vin Diesel voicing a Baby Groot, fans will probably fall in love with him just a little bit more.
Well, Vin Diesel has been out and about on the promotional trailer for his new film xXx: Return Of Xander Cage, and when speaking to MTV, the actor spoke about his Marvel character and was asked if a Groot spin-off would be plausible.
“It’s something that [Guardians writer/director] James Gunn has talked about and it’s something that I know he would love to do. Sure, I think it could be very interesting. I think it’s inevitable,” He said to the outlet. “I think what Marvel has done, primarily what James Gunn has done, to realise that character has exceeded beyond any expectations”.
“He’s just such an interesting character and there’s so much to learn about him … I’d love to go back to his planet and learn more about him and the world would,” Diesel added. “He’s really a genius in a lot of levels, it’s just that we can only hear him say ‘I am Groot’ because of our sophistication level, not his.”
Well, I’m up for this. I’m sure we are a long way off in terms of any future Groot movie plans,, if it ever materialises – but we’ll keep you updated.
Here’s the full interview.
