Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures have announced that they are to release sequels to both Sing and Minions, and have scheduled in dates for both of them.
Sing 2 will debut in cinemas on Christmas Day 2020, while Friday, July 3, 2020is the street date for the sequel to the hugely popular Minions. In related news, The Secret Life of Pets 2, also from Illumination and Universal, has been pushed back a year from July 13, 2018 to Wednesday, July 3, 2019.
Sing, which opens across the UK this week, has done extremely well for the studio and earned almost $430 million at the worldwide box-office, with some markets still to see it screen.
Minions, which was released in 2015, drew in £1.15 billion around the world from a budget of just $74 million – a huge success for the studio.
