We reported yesterday that Bryan Singer is co-executive producing the forthcoming X-Men TV series. Well, it looks like he’ll direct it too, according to official sources.
Singer will helm the very first episode of the series, which will be part of the movie series that the filmmaker helped create all those years ago. Over the years, Singer has helmed four X-Men movies – the first two in the series, and the last two to get released X-Men: Days of Future Past and X-Men: Apocalypse. He’s certainly the right choice, and the fans will be over the moon with his deeper involvement.
According to sources, the story will focus on two ordinary parents who discover their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.
The series will be produced by 20th Century Fox Television and Marvel Television, with 20th Century Fox handling physical production.
We’re unsure of an air date as yet, but we’ll keep you all updated.
