The X-Men TV pilot that has been brewing over at Fox TV is moving ahead to series. The planned show is said to be set in the world of the current run of X-Men movies, and Bryan Singer, who has directed a bunch of them, is executive producing for the studio.
According to sources, the story will focus on two ordinary parents who discover their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.
As well as Singer, Jim Chory, Simon Kinberg, Jeph Loeb and Lauren Shuler Donner will also executive produce. The untitled show will be overseen by Burn Notice creator Matt Nix, who will act as showrunner.
Another X-Men spin-off Legion is also coming our way later this year, though that is a complete separate entity and will reportedly not fit within the current X-Men universe.
More as we get it.
