I’ve seen La La Land a few times now and still can’t get enough of it. It is pure movie magic that deserves every single of its 14 Academy Awards nominations. As we wait for February to see how many it will walk off with – the record is 11 (shared by Titanic, Ben Hur and Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King) but La La Land can only physically win 13 (due to its double nomination in the Best Original Song category – here’s some magnificent behind the scenes footage showing off some of the camera work in the film.
This is a must for every film nut, and in the first clip you can see helmer Damian Chazelle physically directing/ conducting Ari Robbins’ camera during the centrepiece jazz scene.
The second clip shows the camera work that went into the more grander scenes, including that stunning opener on the L.A. freeway.
Give them all the awards.
