Another, final Terminator film is in the planning over at Skydance, but hold on… there is some very good news. Deadline are reporting that none other than James Cameron is ‘godfathering’ the new instalment in a troubled franchise (in terms of the last two or three movies anyway), and Deadpool helmer Tim Miller may direct it.
Kkydance co-financed Terminator Genisys, and according to the trade blog, ‘is bankrolling an exploratory effort that includes engaging some top-flight science fiction authors to find the movie creatively.’
The Terminator movies have taken a grand total of $1.8 billion in box-office revenue, the biggest earner being the second movie in the series Terminator 2: Judgement Day, which is also arguably the best.
There’s no word as to whether the new movie will be a reboot or a continuation, and at the moment there has been no official comments from any of the parties involved.
