New images land for Guy Ritchie’s ‘King Arthur’ movie

New King Arthur photos: Four stills debut for the forthcoming Guy Ritchie-directed film, which will finally arrive this summer.

It seems like we’ve been waiting forever for Guy Ritchie‘s King Arthur: Legend of the Sword – actually we have – it was shot back in early 2015, but was put back to the summer of 2017 for various reasons. Charlie Hunnam, Astrid Berges-Frisbey, Jude Law and Eric Bana star in the film, which is re-imagining of the English legend, and we have four new King Arthur photos from the film courtesy of Entertainment Weekly.

As well as the new King Arthur images, which you can see below, Ritchie spoke about working on the forthcoming movie, and whether he’d like to return to the world of Arthur and the knights of the round table in the future.

“As much as anything, I enjoy the process of filmmaking. Going back to Sherlock was very fun. Going back into this would be great fun. I like the world. I like Charlie. I liked everyone I worked with. It’s just a world that I’d like to stay within for a while. It’s not like there aren’t enough stories to be told within the mythology of Arthur and all of the characters within it with Merlin, with the sword, with Guinevere, with Lancelot. There are lots of untapped narrative still to be dealt with.”

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword could be the first of many movies in a new franchise if everything goes to plan and the film makes money, which we really hope it does as we’re big fans of Ritchie here at THN Towers, and of Hunnam too.

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword opens in the UK on May 12th. See the new King Arthur photos below along with a brand new UK one-sheet poster too.
