Online Casino Games Take On Big Film Franchises

Who remembers a day before the Internet came along? I’m not sure about anyone else, but I struggle to remember a time before we all found ourselves online surfing the web. In the 25 years or so of the Internet as we know and love it today, technology and connection speeds have advanced massively, almost every year, and with it has come advancement in how we game online too.

Gaming, particularly the online casino gaming world has moved forward in leaps and bounds, and now we are starting to see franchises develop within the online gaming community with multiple companies coming on board to lend their intellectual properties to these games. The film world is no different, and we’ve take a little trip around the web to see which are the most popular properties from the movie world getting in on the act, and the hugely popular world of online gaming.

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that movies are big business. We wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t, and of the huge blockbusters from the last few years, many of them also have their online game tie-in. One such example is Jurassic World, the $1 billion plus-earning movie from 2015. Unsurprisingly, it has its own game, as does the other films in the popular Universal franchise, which originated back in 1993 with Jurassic Park.

There’s also an Iron Man game, and in fact many games featuring characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which are arguably some of the most popular films in this modern age. However, after a little research, it isn’t just the big movie franchises of today getting a run in the online casino community – it seems that the studios are looking to their massive back catalogues for inspiration too,

After a short amount of time looking around the Internet, we found games for the likes of 1994 classic Forrest Gump, the Oscar-winner that stars Tom Hanks, a game for the 1980s comedy Ghostbusters, a film that had a remake put into cinemas in the summer of 2016, and even a game based on the classic gangster film Scarface. All of them attract hundreds of thousands of payers from around the world on a weekly basis, and will continue to do so.

Online gaming is here to stay, and film companies will continue to license out their own content to the community to ensure growth and, more importantly cash dollars to re-invest – which is a great thing for both industries, we’re sure you’ll agree.
