Sony Pictures have announced a release date for a sequel to their 2015 adaptation of the Goosebumps book series. The next film will release Stateside on January 26th, 2018 – in just over a year’s time.
The film will see the return of director Rob Letterman (Shark Tale, Monsters vs. Aliens) and screenwriter Darren Lemke (Turbo) . The word is that Jack Black is yet to sign for Goosebumps 2.
The original film revolved around a teenager who teams up with the daughter of young adult horror author R. L. Stine after the writer’s imaginary demons are set free on the town of Madison, Delaware.
The first film grossed a huge $150 million from a budget of around $58 million, so was quite a hit for the studio – hence plans for that big sequel.
More news as and when.
