More Tom Hardy James Bond rumours surface, but the actor has an interesting response to being asked if he’d be up for it.
More on the new Tom Hardy James Bond rumours below.
So this one is a very quick, loose news story. One of Britain’s greatest living actors is Tom Hardy. The thesp can currently be seen wowing BBC audiences in the moody Taboo, but i an interview with The Daily Beast, the actor was asked if he would be up for starring as on of cinema’s most iconic roles… James Bond.
“You know, there’s a saying amongst us in the fraternity of acting, and in the fellowship of my peer group, that if you talk about it you’re automatically out of the race,” he said.
“So I can’t possibly comment on that one! If I mention it, it’s gone.”
Well, we’re taking that as a yes, but we’re not going to talk about as we really don;t want it to be gone…
Of course, Daniel Craig is still very much 007 and still has one more movie to go in terms of contract – the 25th official James Bond adventure – and we’d like to see him one last time as we were huge fans of Skyfall, and even SPECTRE to be honest.
The interview also saw Hardy asked abou Mad Max, and also Christopher Nolan, who he re-teams with on the forthcoming Dunkirk. Hardy says that Nolan directing a Bond movie would be ‘so cool’.
“I wonder what the next installment of that franchise would become,” Hardy said.”And I think when you mention someone like Christopher Nolan, that’s a very powerful figure to bring into that world who could bring something new and create something profound – again.”
If you click through to the Daily Beast you can read the full interview, which is a really interesting read.
