We reported on, a week or so ago, a casting report for the next Avengers movie Avengers: Infinity War, which confirmed a long list of superheroes and the actors who play them, to appear in the massively budgeted movie. One absentee from that list was Tom Holland, who plays Spider-Man in this summer’s huge Spider-Man: Homecoming. His omission caused a bit of a stir online, but we needn’t have worries as the actor appears to have confirmed that he will appear in the ensemble after all.
Holland was speaking with Italian magazine L’Uomo Vogue. The following quote has been translated from Italian, and does contain a little broken English.
Here’s what it read (taken from a shot of the interview by the Tom Holland Italy Twitter account).
“The approval for the role in Spider-Man arrives personally also by Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans ‘They who convinced the Marvel: the producers wanted to be sure that I was the right person before entrusting three films over the next four years, including Avengers: Infinity War. ‘”
That’s not a 100% confirmation as Marvel/ Disney haven’t stated anything as yet, but still, we’re a little more hopeful.
