British actor Tom Hardy and Channing Tatum (Magic Mike XXL) are in talks to join the cast of director J.C. Chandor’s Triple Frontier.
Deadline reports the news of the two’s interest in the film, which is based on a screenplay by Mark Boal. The film is described as a thriller set in the notorious border zone between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil where the Iguazu and Parana rivers converge.
The trade blog reports that the film was once set to be directed by The Hurt Locker helmer Kathryn Bigalow with Will Smith, Tom Hanks and Johnny Depp amongst the cast, but that has obviously changed now.
There’s no other news regarding the project as of now, but we’ll bring you more as it comes our way.
Tom Hardy will next be seen in the eight-part TV series Taboo, which debuts on British TV this weekend, while Tatum will co-star in the big sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle, which arrives in cinemas later in the year.
