There’s just about a month to go until the return of the superb Showtime TV series Homeland, and the network has just released a brand new look at the forthcoming drama series.
It looks like most of the action in this series is focussed in on New York City (and, looking at the new Homeland season 6 trailer, Abu Dhabi) and the time between the results for a new president of the United States, and their inauguration. How apt, right?
In Season 6 of Homeland, Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) is back in the US on the streets of New York, fighting for the protection of civil liberties and against the abuse of power within the government. She remains in opposition with Saul (Mandy Patinkin), who is still with the CIA.
Several months after she thwarted a terrorist attack in Berlin, Carrie Mathison is living in New York where she’s begun working to provide aid to Muslims living in the U.S.
The new series also stars Rupert Friend, F. Murray Abraham and Elizabeth Marvel.
While Homeland season 6 will arrive Stateside on Showtime on Sunday, January 15th, there has been no official word on when we can expect to see it on UK screens. All of the previous seasons have been screened on British terrestrial station Channel 4, but looking around the Internet, there’s no official screening date for the new season opener.
