Homecoming sequel: A Spider-Man movie has been slated for release in 2019.
More on the Homecoming sequel below.
Spider-Man: Homecoming isn’t due in cinemas for over six months, but that hasn’t stopped Sony and Marvel Studios pushing forward with plans for a follow-up. The Homecoming sequel has been slated for a 2019 release by Sony Pictures.
The date for your diaries in July 5th, 2019, a date which is two and a years away of course, but one to look forward to as Tom Holland continues his adventures within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Holland will be back as Peter Parker and the title character in the movie, and expect an Avenger or two to show up too.
The first Spider-Man Homecoming teaser trailer was unleashed on the web yesterday, and if you haven’t had the chance to view it as yet, we’d urge you to do so as soon as humanly possible.
The film stars Holland, alongside Marisa Tomei, Robert Downey Jr (as Tony Stark/ Iron Man), Michael Keaton as the villain of the piece, Vulture, as well as Zendaya, Jon Favreau, Donald Glover and Tyne Daly.
Here’s the updated synopsis for next summer’s big superhero movie.
A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.
Keep it THN for more news on the Homecoming sequel. Expect Hollan and his new version of Spidey to pop up in other Marvel movies along the way too. Spider-Man: Homecoming will be released on July 7th, 2019.
