Ocean’s Eight villain revealed! British actor Damian Lewis will play the bad guy in the forthcoming movie spin-off from Ocean’s Eleven.
More on the Ocean’s Eight villain below.
Damian Lewis is the Ocean’s Eight villain. The British actor, seen recently in the superb series Billions and the first three seasons of Homeland, is in final negotiations to join the cast of the in-production heist movie headed by Sandra Bullock.
Variety reported the news of Lewis’s potential casting in the movie, which also stars Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling, Awkwafina, and Sarah Paulson.
The film revolves around eight women who plan and execute a heist in New York. It is a reboot, though is said to take place in the same ‘universe’ as the previous three Ocean’s movies that were led by George Clooney.
Shooting on the film has been underway in New York and other locations for a little while now (as these set images will attest), and will go on for the next few weeks. According to the trade, Lewis has already been spotted on the set.
Garry Ross is directing the film, while Ocean’s Eleven director Steven Soderbergh and Ross will produce.
The film is set for release in Summer 2018 (we’re hearing June 8th, 2018) and will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company, and in select territories by Village Roadshow Pictures.
Lewis also starred in this year’s John Le Carre adaptation Our Kind Of Traitor, and will next be seen as the character of David Axelrod in the second season on Billions on Showtime (Stateside), and on Sky Atlantic in the UK.
We’ll bring you more news on Ocean’s Eight as it comes our way. Do you think that Damian will make a good villain in the forthcoming movie?
