Atlantic Wall: Bradley Cooper being lined up to star in the planned World War II movie at Warner Brothers.
More on Atlantic Wall below.
Bradley Cooper is being lined up to star in Atlantic Wall, a new World War II film to be directed by The Accountant helmer Gavin O’Connor.
The film is one of those that has sat on the Blacklist, a list of the best screenplays which is released every year. Atlantic Wall was featured back last year and will see Cooper lead the cast. Deadline first reported the news.
Zach Dean wrote the screenplay, which follows one American paratrooper, stranded behind enemy lines hours before D-Day, who is tasked with delivering intelligence critical to the outcome of the war and compelled to fulfil a promise to protect the young son of a murdered ally.
Shooting isn’t set to start until 2018, but the production will head to Normandy, France. The long delay between the announcement and principal photography is to allow Cooper to complete his directorial debut, a remake of A Star Is Born in which he will also star opposite Lady Gaga.
Warner Bros. are backing Atlantic Wall. The studio were also behind this year’s The Accountant from O’Connor, a massive success with $143 million in the bank from its theatrical run – from a budget of around $44 million.
Atlantic Wall will be produced by Dan Friedkin and Bradley Thomas of Imperative and Adam Kolbrenner of Madhouse Entertainment.
More on the movie as it heads our way.
