A new Patriots Day featurette has just hit the web ahead of the film’s release in a couple of months time. The film, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Peter Berg (Deepwater Horizon) is an account of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing and the everyday heroes who inspired the world in the extraordinary hours that followed.

In the aftermath of an unspeakable act of terror, Police Sergeant Tommy Saunders (Mark Wahlberg) joins courageous survivors, first responders and investigators in a race against the clock to hunt down the bombers before they strike again. Weaving together the stories of Special Agent Richard Deslauriers (Kevin Bacon), Police Commissioner Ed Davis (John Goodman), Sergeant Jeffrey Pugliese (J.K. Simmons) and nurse Carol Saunders (Michelle Monaghan) this visceral and unflinching chronicle captures the suspense of the most sophisticated manhunt in law enforcement history and the strength of the people of Boston.

The new Patriots Day featurette focusses in on Simmons’ character of Sergeant Jeffrey Pugliese who also had a hand in the making of the film advising the filmmkmakers and actors day to day.

The film is scheduled to open in the United States on January 13th with a UK release scheduled for a slightly later February 24th, 2017.

The film is written by Matt Cook (Triple 9, The Duel), along with Berg, Joshua Zetumer and Eric Johnson.
