The very first trailer for Martin Scorsese‘s Silence, which is coming out of the Oscar race blocks next month, has just been released online.
The film actually makes it to UK cinemas on January 1st, but this is our first proper look at the movie following some first-look images and poster earlier on today.
Silence tells the story of two Christian missionaries (Andrew Garfield and Adam Driver) who face the ultimate test of faith when they travel to Japan in search of their missing mentor (Liam Neeson) – at a time when Christianity was outlawed and their presence forbidden. Silence is the celebrated director’s 28-year journey to bring Shusaku Endo’s 1966 acclaimed novel to life, and is said to be a hot contender this awards season.
