Game Of Thrones‘ Emilia Clarke has officially joined the Star Wars universe and will star in the forthcoming Han Solo movie. She joins the already cast Alden Ehrenreich, who plays Solo, and Donald Glover, who has been cast as Lando Calrissian
“Emilia Clarke is heading to a galaxy far, far away — and she’s going to meet Han and Chewie,” reads the official announcement. “…Clarke, known for her stirring portrayal of Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones, will join the upcoming untitled Han Solo Star Wars movie. Clarke’s role will round out a dynamic cast of characters that Han and Chewie will encounter on their adventures.”
Shooting on the film is expected to begin in the new year for a 2018 release. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (The LEGO Movie) will direct the film for Lucasfilm.
