The second Deadpool movie hasn’t even gone into production yet, but according to multiple sources online Fox are already planning the third film. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio are reportedly on the look out to find a director for the third outing (despite a final deal not 100% in place for a filmmaker to helm the second film as yet).
The trade say that ‘Fox already is planning Deadpool 3, readying a filmmaker search for a storyline that will involve another X-team, X-Force, say sources.‘
X-Force a fictional team of superheroes appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, most commonly in association with the X-Men. There are many members and you can get a feel for them over on this WikiPedia page.
In other news, which stems from the same article, Fox has apparently also ‘pressed the reset button’ on the X-Men movies, and writer Simon Kinberg has been tasked with penning a brand new screenplay. Despite their three-picture deal contracts already having expired, the new script is being written with Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy optimistically in mind.
