Watch the first proper trailer for ‘T2: Trainspotting’

The very first proper trailer for T2: Trainspotting, the sequel to the 1990s break-out British hit, has just landed online. The film reunites Ewan McGregor, Ewen Bremner, Jonny Lee Miller and Robert Carlyle and is directed by Danny Boyle. There is also an official synopsis:

First there was an opportunity……then there was a betrayal. Twenty years have gone by. Much has changed but just as much remains the same. Mark Renton (Ewan McGregor) returns to the only place he can ever call home.

They are waiting for him: Spud (Ewen Bremner), Sick Boy (Jonny Lee Miller), and Begbie (Robert Carlyle).

Other old friends are waiting too: sorrow, loss, joy, vengeance, hatred, friendship, love, longing, fear, regret, diamorphine, self-destruction and mortal danger, they are all lined up to welcome him, ready to join the dance.

The new film is written by John Hodge, who wrote the screenplay for the original movie 20 years ago, and is based on the novel Porno and its characters created by Irvine Welsh.

The film is targeting a January 27th, 2017 release in the UK. Watch the awesome new trailer below.
