It will come as no surprise that Disney are planning a live-action Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs film. Variety have announced that Erin Cressida Wilson, who penned the screenplay for The Girl On The Train, is set to write the script with songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (La La Land) tasked to write new songs for the planned feature, which will be based on its very first animated movie produced by the Mouse House all of the way back in 1937.
‘Snow White’ will be added to the long list of live-action re-dos of Disney’s classic aminated movies. Next year we’ll be treated to a new version of Beauty and the Beast from Bill Condon, and then in future years we’ll have the likes of Jon Favreau’s The Lion King and Guy Ritchie’s Aladdin, amongst many others, to look forward to.
Disney are also planning a film titled Red Rose, a film based around Snow White’s sister.
