The fifth Pirates Of The Caribbean movie will be known as something slightly different title wise in the UK. In the United States it will remain Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, but in the UK it will go by Pirates Of The Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge. In France, Italy and Spain the film will be called Pirates of the Caribbean: The Revenge of Salazar, which is really going to confuse us as its 2017 release date approaches.
The specific reason hasn’t been given by Disney who will distribute as yet, but it probably concerns trademarks or projects with similar names in different countries around the world. It’s like Zootropolis and Zootopia all over again.
‘Pirates 5’, which is what I will forever be referring to it as, will be directed by Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg and will hit cinemas next summer. Johnny Depp will reprise his role of Captain Jack Sparrow, while Javier Bardem will be playing the new villain – the Salazar of that new title.
More as it comes our way.
