God Particle, the J.J. Abrams produced science fiction movie will serve as the third film in the Cloverfield series, following Matt Reeves’ original movie, which debuted back in 2008, and this year’s genre pic 10 Cloverfield Lane.
Julius Onah will be directing God Particle for Paramount Pictures, who are also said to be keen on releasing more films set within the Cloverfield universe. ‘Particle’ follows a team of astronauts who make a ‘shocking discovery’ and end up fighting for survival in what is described as an altered reality.
David Oyelowo, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Ziyi Zhang, Elizabeth Debicki, Daniel Bruhl and Chris O’Dowd star in the film, which debuts pretty soon, on February 24th, 2017. So, the big question is, will we be getting a Cloverfield every year from now on?
We’ll keep you posted.
