Michael Fassbender has revealed the name of the new alien which can be seen in the forthcoming sequel to Prometheus, and indeed prequel to Alien, Alien: Covenant.
Speaking on BBC Radio One in the UK, Fassbender, who stars in the sequel dropped the name “Neomorph” into the conversation – obviously a slight variation on the Xenomorph from the Alien movies.
AvPGalaxy have more on the new aliens to be seen in the Ridley Scott directed movie. Beware of slight spoilers.
“These [Neomorphs] are the result of the local ecosystem being mutated by the accelerant/black goo. Over time, pods started to grow on the trees and the ground, and release a spore when disturbed,” their report read. “These spores infect several members of the Covenant crew by entering the body through the ear and nostrils.”
Alien: Covenant is now in post-production and will open on August 4th, 2017. The film stars Katherine Waterston, Noomi Rapace, Demian Bichir, Danny McBride, Alex England, Billy Crudup, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollett, Carmen Ejogo and Callie Hernandez.
