Shortly after the last James Bond movie Spectre opened – which is about a year ago – Daniel Craig proclaimed that he was done with Bond saying he’d rather slash his wrists than do another one. Well, a year on and talk has changed, and it sounds like he may be more open to taking on the role one more time (at least) after all.
The actor was speaking to Vulture s he filmed scenes for his Steven Soderbergh NASCAR heist film Logan Lucky.
“They say that sh*t sticks, and that definitely stuck,” Craig said, referring to that comment. “It was the day after filming [stopped on ‘Spectre’]. I’d been away from home for a year. Boo-hoo. It’s a good gig. I enjoy it.”
“As far as I’m concerned, I’ve got the best job in the world,” Craig added. “I’ll keep doing it as long as I still get a kick out of it. If I were to stop doing it, I would miss it terribly.”
The next Bond film will probably go into production in 2018 for a release around 2019 judging from the time between the releases of the last couple of movies are anything to go by.
We’re still adamant that Craig will return – the next film will be the 25th official Bond movie and we, like the rest of the movie-going planet, cannot wait for a new 007 adventure.
More as it comes in.
