Horror sequel Rings has had its release date pushed back until 2017, according to Coming Soon. The film was due to be released in time for Halloween Stateside, but will now bow in February 2017.
Matilda Lutz, Alex Roe, Johnny Galecki, Aimee Teegarden, Bonnie Morgan and Vincent D’Onofrio star in the sequel, which marks new chapter in the beloved Ring horror franchise. A young woman becomes worried about her boyfriend when he explores a dark subculture surrounding a mysterious videotape said to kill the watcher seven days after he has viewed it. She sacrifices herself to save her boyfriend and in doing so makes a horrifying discovery: there is a “movie within the movie” that no one has ever seen before…
There’s no real reason given for the delay, but a November 4th release was also given for the UK. We’re not sure if that date will still stand either, but we’ll keep you posted.
