The Darkest Universe, the other-worldly new film from BAFTA nominated award-winning directors Tom Kingsley and Will Sharpe is set for release in UK cinemas on 4th November. Their debut feature Black Pond received universal acclaim on its release and now with The Darkest Universe they consolidate that early promise with this quirky, funny, moving and totally original film.
The film stars Will Sharpe, who most recently wrote, directed and starred in Channel 4’s much lauded Flowers, alongside Joe Thomas (Fresh Meat, The Inbetweeners) and Sophia di Martino (Flowers). Also featured are some of the UK’s best comedy actors including Simon Bird (Friday Night Dinner, The Inbetweeners), Chris Langham (Black Pond, The Thick of it), Jamie Demetriou (Fleabag) and Jonny Sweet (Together).
Its the story of Zac who goes in search of his sister who has gone missing in mysterious circumstances along with her boyfriend. As Zac’s journey continues with no result, he starts to lose the plot until he makes some startling discoveries that makes him reassess what could have possibly happened to the two lovers.
