Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson to reunite for ‘Shanghai Dawn’

Thirteen years after the release of the last movie, Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson are set to reunite for Shanghai Dawn, the third film in the series that started with Shanghai Noon and continued with Shanghai Knights.

The news comes via The Hollywood Reporter who say that MGM have hired Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite) to direct. There are no major story hints, but the trade says that both Miles Millar and Alfred Gough, who wrote the first two movies, will return to pen the third.

The original movie revolved around a Chinese man (Chan) who is forced to team up with an outlaw (Wilson) to save a Chinese princess. It grossed nearly $100 million back in 2000 with the follow-up bagging $88 million three years later.
