This week is one of the best weeks for absolutely ages for choices of quality film works at your local multiplex. One such film is Anthropoid, the World War II true story from acclaimed filmmaker Sean Ellis, the creative force behind the likes of Cashback and Metro Manilla.
In Anthropoid, two soldiers from the Czech army-in-exile, Josef Gabík (Cillian Murphy) and Jan Kubiš (Jamie Dornan), are parachuted into their occupied homeland in December 1941. With limited intelligence and little equipment in a city locked down under Nazi occupation, they must find a way to assassinate Reinhard Heydrich, the Reich’s third in command after Hitler and Himmler.
We caught up with director Sean Eillis when was in London this past week where he spoke about his career and the 15-year-long journey in bringing the epic Anthropoid to screens.
Check out the interview in full below. Anthropoid opens across the UK on September 9th, 2016. Read our very positive review here.
