The first trailer for USS Indianapolis: Men Of Courage, which stars Nicolas Cage, has just dropped. Now, this is the international trailer for the film, which has only opened in the Philippines thus far – there is no UK or US release date as yet.
The film sees Cage star alongside the likes of Tom Sizemore and Thomas Jane with the story revolving around the United States Navy ship which was torpedoed by the Imperial Japanese Navy submarine I-58 during World War II, sinking in 12 minutes. Of 1,196 crewmen aboard, approximately 300 went down with the ship. The film is directed by Mario Van Peebles and scripted by Cam Cannon and Richard Rionda Del Castro.
Here’s the official synopsis:
The harrowing true story of the crew of the USS Indianapolis, who were stranded in the Philippine Sea for five days after delivering the atomic weapons that would eventually end WWII. As they awaited rescue, they endured extreme thirst, hunger, and relentless shark attacks.
So, not sure about this one. I guess it’s safe to say that we’re not quite feeling it from the trailer – whether that be down to the rather unfinished-looking special effects or the questionable acting.
Take a look.
