The Jungle Book and Iron Man director Jon Favreau is lined up to direct the very first episode of Family Guy‘s Seth MacFarlane’s untitled TV show over at Fox.
The show was originally announced back in May and is set three centuries in the future following the crew of the motley exploratory ship Orville as they explore the challenges of space and co-habituating with their colleagues. The hour-long live-action series will star MacFarlane opposite Adrianne Palicki, Scott Grimes, Peter Macon and J Lee.
The Hollywood Reporter adds that Favreau will then stay on the show in an executive producer capacity after helming the pilot episode.
Favreau has previously directed episodes of the NBC series Revolution and About a Boy, as well as a 2013 episode of The Office.
Shooting on the new Fox sci-fi show kicks off in the new year.
