Breaking news. Edge Of Tomorrow and The Bourne Identity helmer Doug Liman is being lined up to direct Justice League Dark. Liman has left the Channing Tatum Gambit project over at Fox to concentrate his efforts on Justice League Dark, a film based on the comic books which feature the characters Det. John Constantine, Swamp Thing, Deadman, Zatanna and Etrigan the Demon.
Guillermo del Toro was previously attached to direct the Warner Bros. project, but is now off shooting his next project The Shape Of Water. Variety reports that Liman will line-up the adaptation of the “Dark Universe” series of comic books, adding to his planned projects that also include The Wall with Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Chaos Walking and the Tom Cruise cartel pic American Made, which is already in the can.
Justice League Dark first appeared in Justice League Dark #1 in November 2011. The unlikely team of superheroes situations deemed unfit for the traditional Justice League, which obviously consist of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and others.
