Downton Abbey film still possible says one of the stars of the original series.
The Downton Abbey film would follow six seasons on the popular ITV drama series.
The possibility of a Downton Abbey film has been mentioned once again. Michelle Dockery (Lady Mary in the series), has been speaking to The Telegraph about her upcoming projects and talk of a Downton Abbey film came into the conversation.
“I think there is potential for a film,” Dockery told the newspaper. “That is something I would wholeheartedly consider, so we will see. It may not be over yet.”
Downton Abbey ran for six seasons between 2010 and 2015 and officially ended on ITV on Christmas Day last year. The show has been nominated for ten Emmys this year. Since the show ended there has been talk of a movie, which could actually work.
Michelle Dockery herself has a slew of high profile projects coming up, including a Netflix TV series opposite Jeff Bridges and Jack O’ Connell. The show, entitled Godless, is in pre-production and will air on the streaming service in 2017. Before that she will be seen in the film The Sense Of An Ending opposite Emily Mortimer and Charlotte Rampling. The film follows a man who becomes haunted by his past and is presented with a mysterious legacy that causes him to re-think his current situation in life.
We’re sure we’ll have more news to share on a possible Downton Abbey film as it becomes available to us. Stay tuned.
