This is who may be playing Cable in ‘Deadpool 2’

deadpool

There was a time everyone (and when I say everyone, I mean the internet) wanted Stephen Lang to play the next potential Deadpool villain, Cable. Well, Lang is absolutely awesome in the forthcoming Don’t Breathe, but it looks like filmmakers may be looking in the direction of another impressive actor to play the iconic bad guy. That actor is Kyle Chandler.

If the name doesn’t mean anything to you, then it should as the actor has been gently outshining the likes of Ben Mendelsohn and co. in the Netflix original series Bloodine where he plays John Rayburn, and also roles in the likes of The Wolf Of Wall Street and Friday Night Lights. According to ComicBook.com reports that Mashable‘s Jeff Sneider told Meet the Movie Press: “There’s been a name floating around for Cable for months. Hasn’t changed. Don’t know if it’s changed. Didn’t make any calls about this. This was just the name that has been out there for months. So take this with a gigantic grain of salt. The biggest grain of salt your tiny little brain can imagine. The name that is floating around for Cable right now is Kyle Chandler.”

We of course saw Cable in the post-credits scene in this year’s Deadpool, one of the year’s biggest films, which has so far taken over $760 million at the box-office, which is impressive.

We have not had official confirmation of any casting for the sequel, which is set to roll into production in 2017, with a release set for 2018.

We’ll bring you more as it comes in.
