Assassin’s Creed is the film that we hope will beat the curse of the dreaded games to movie adaptation and actually be quite good. The film arrives in cinemas this coming December, and if the following behind the scenes video is anything to go by, we’re in for a treat.

Rather than employing CGI to carry out some of the stunt work, the filmmakers have instead employed stuntmen to do the dirty work and this stunning free-fall featured in the film is an example of that.

Here’s Damien Walters, Michael Fassbender‘s double in the movie who performed a huge 120 feet free-fall, something that hasn’t ben done for 35 years.

This is quite amazing.

Assassin’s Creed is directed by Justin Kurzel and will open in cinemas later this year.

Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day.
