We were all excited, if not a little confused when Sony announced that they were to put a crossover between the Men In Black and the ‘Jump Street’ movies into development a couple of months back, but it looks like the project may be in doubt, according to Jonah Hill.

Hill, who appeared in 21 Jump Street and its sequel 22 Jump Street, as well as producing and coming up with the story, spoke with The Toronto Sun, while out and about promoting his new movie War Dogs.

“I had the idea, but I doubt that movie will get made,” he said. “It’s too complicated. They’re trying to make all the deals, but it’s kind of impossible with all the Men in Black stuff.”

The planned crossover will be directed by Alice Through The Looking Glass director James Bobin (if it happens), which was widely reported by Variety a couple of months back.

“The Jump Street films were so fun to make and the whole joke of them was they were making fun of remakes and sequels and reboots and then now it’s become a giant sequel, reboot,” Hill added. “It’s almost become what we were making fun of and it’s hard to maintain that joke when it’s so high stakes.”

“I love Channing and I love (directors) Phil Lord and Chris Miller and I love making those movies – they’re a lot of fun. So I hope it works out.”

We so hope that this comes together as the idea is so out there that it could be absolute genius, and the first two Jump Streets were such fun to watch.

As always, we’ll keep you updated.
